I wanted to get in some practice for coloring and inking and I hope I did justice to ~jjakec 's beautiful lines. Not exactly sure how I fee about the background... I might remove it later since it was kinda slapped in there just to take up space and I may adjust the crop at some point. Anywho, give ~jjakec 's page a look, plenty of wonderful line and pencil work to look at!
Please give feedback on the colors if you can, I'm in need of some serious critique. Colors ONLY. Color and Ink by myself Pencil work by: Original Lines: [link] |

An artist is the creative mind of God with Hands possesed by the devil....
as for the work you did ill start with the lineart which i guess you could say is my particular bread and butter of creative slop and ill say this much:
Where lineart left off colors picked up and gave you a good sense of light and color which, with light, can be difficult but not impossible, and color, which can be near impossible unless you work with inks of many colors or are a good photoshopper/painter/ etc.
Over all a good job and kept simple so that the character stands out with out be overpowered by the work/details/etc. which can often occur with my shit.
the only thing that i would say is lacking is the backround is a little simplistic but not distracting (so not a huge problem or anything) and a lack of texture which admittedly is difficult with comic book cahracters cause they tnd to wear...spandex...which doesnt have much texture(or that shiny pleather stuff again not much to feel out...). the harnesses and belts which look to be leather could have some texture (pretty easy to slap a leather texture from a picture something on multiply settings on photoshop or something)and maybe a metallic finish on the blade would have been a nice touch. and as for the small gleam you may have even wanted to try a very small lens flare with a lower opacity (maybe ill do an example...yeah im might play with it cause im a little unsure as to whether it would be a bit much...assuming you dont mind if i download this image of course...) oh and i like the fade on the smoke from the gun barrel a good bit...
